A 25 year-old man and a 20-year-old man face charges follow an early morning street brawl in Albury. At around 3:15 Thursday morning 15 people were involved in a fight near the corner of Dean and Olive Streets. A 28-year-old man needed treatment at the Albury Hospital. Police investigations continue.
Albury’s Myer City Centre shopping complex needed to be evacuated last Wednesday afternoon. An electrical fault caused a fire at the Beechworth Bakery outlet at around 5PM. Staff extinguished the fire before firefighters arrived on the scene. A woman suffering smoke inhalation and received treatment by paramedics.
Local NSW Shire Councils have yet to receive official notice from NSW Government to impose Stage 4 water restrictions, even though the Department of Water advises Councils to move to harsher restrictions immediately. It’s predicted that all local NSW councils will introduce Stage 4 restrictions within the fortnight… They have been told to operate within 50% of 2009-2010 water allocations.
Masterplans for both Albury and Lavington CBDs are up for discussion, with workshops being held ahead of comment cut-off date of July 24. Lavington’s masterplan encourages re-development of the suburb’s retail core and increase building height limit
