[abc] A Corowa man who killed a young woman and buried her in a shallow grave has been granted a hearing at the New South Wales court of criminal appeal.
Ryan Chris Williams was sentenced to 21 years and nine months in jail after pleading guilty to murdering Shana Joy Wilkinson, 20, in 2009.
Williams strangled her and hit her with a shovel before burying her at a public reserve near the southern New South Wales town of Corowa.
He is now appealing his sentence and will appear in the Sydney-based court in June.
Two hours have been allocated to the hearing, with up to three judges possibly sitting.
